Now that we know the reason Lala Anthony left Carmelo Anthony, the question is now how much will the scorned wife receive if there is a divorce settlement.
TMZ has confirmed Carmelo and Lala have a prenuptial agreement, and a $200 plus million fortune is at stake. The celebrity gossip site says the prenuptial agreement benefits the New York Knicks player more than his wife. Prenuptial agreements are not iron clad if the courts recognize one party is at a disadvantage.
The split is already nasty with a woman allegedly claiming the NBA player impregnated her. If a cheating clause exists in the agreement, Lala may have the upper hand.
The Anthony’s $200 million fortune comes primarily from Carmelo’s NBA earnings and endorsement deals, but Mrs. Anthony continued to work after her breaking through as an MTV VJ. Carmelo is currently playing under a $124 million contract with the Knicks.
Neither party has announced divorce plans yet, but there is a lot of money at stake.
