They were married for nearly 25 years and despite their high-profile divorce, Caitlyn Jenner says she and ex-wife Kris Jenner have managed to remain “good friends.”
Caitlyn also added how her transition played apart in their relationship from its onset.
“Everybody has a different interpretation of what happened,” the I Am Cait star said at a press event. “But I was, I thought, probably very honest with her at the beginning when we first met 25 years ago. Did I probably downplay it? Absolutely.”
The 66-year-old former Olympian also acknowledged Kris has struggled with the issue but they’ve managed to stay close throughout the entire situation.
“I think sometimes she has challenges in trying to deal with the issue now, which I get it, but we’re still good friends.”
She added: “We had 23 great years together. She’s a great person. We have a great relationship now.
Following her split from Robert Kardashian, Kris married Caitlyn in 1991. After 22 years of marriage, Kris announced their separation in September 2013. The 60-year-old filed for divorce the following year and their divorce was finalized in March 2015.
