As her marriage to John Stamos crumbled, Rebecca Romijn found comfort with man’s best friend.
The 43-year-old former supermodel says her dog Better was what helped her endure her high-profile split 12 years ago.
“I found Better when I was going through a tough time in my life,” she told People. “It was a sad time.”
The Skin Wars star also revealed how she came to name her precious pup.
“I picked up Better when he was about three months old, and he nestled right into my shoulder,” she recalls. “My best friend was with me and he goes, ‘That’s better.’ And that’s why I named him Better.”
Rebecca and John were married in 1998 and enjoyed six years of wedded bliss before finalizing their divorce in 2005.
Since 2007, Romijn has been happily married to Jerry O’Connell, with whom she has seven-year-old twin daughters.
While Jerry may be the love of her life, she still says there’s no comparison as to who she prefers to cozy up to on the couch.
