Nobody could’ve predicted this celebrity breakup.
On Thursday, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced to the world they are separating after two years of marriage. The usually private couple broke the news via a statement to The Associated Press.
“In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation,” the statement to read. “This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship. Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
Aniston and Theroux started dating after meeting on the set of Wanderlust in 2011. They became engaged in August of 2012 and married in August of 2015.
The divorce papers haven’t even been signed yet, and Twitterverse is already pairing off the actress with her ex-husband Brad Pitt who is also in the midst of divorcing Angelina Jolie.
The internet is going crazy with the idea that a single Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are now free to reunite. The two were married from 2000 to 2005 , and dated two years prior. Rumors of an affair between his Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar Angelina Jolie is said to have ended the marriage.
Fans took to Twitter to express their desire to see the reunion between the exes.
